Exciting Schoolhouse Building Updates
January 8, 2020

A recent trip to Guatemala on Nov 21st to Nov 26th, 2019 resulted in some very exciting updates on the Schoolhouse Building Project.
Building Updates:
1. We visited the OSO building site, for update of the buildings. The building that you see here is the schoolhouse, which is almost finished, interior details are the only thing left to be completed.
The other building in the photos on the OSO site is the dental clinic, which is still under construction.
2. We are very excited to now have architects from Guatemala and California, Francisco Quesada and Alfredo Quesada, who are now participating in the project and plan to help with the functionality aspects of the project.
3. We met also with Delfina Codon, who is the Program Director of the nursing school in Jocotan. We discussed plans for how nurses can help with the project when they do their practical nursing hours.
4. We also discussed possible locations for a water well for the OSO site. While we were on location we met with the people who will install the water well and this will be underway asap.
5. Last but not least, thanks to Dr Adrian Musters (in Huntsville, Ontario), through one of his contacts in the USA, we obtained some used dental equipment that has been donated to OSO. This equipment will be transported to Guatemala from Philadelphia as soon as OSO get the funds to do so.
Community Involvement:
We met with people in the community and visited villages in the surrounding area, talking to people that will benefit from this project. Below are some photographs of our travels around the nearby village.
Overall we had a great trip and we are always so motivated and energized after we visit and see all of the hard work and amazing progress that we have made. If you want to get involved in this project or know more about it please feel free to reach out to us.
Thanks to Bruce Templeton from Huntsville Ontario for your photography skills during this trip.
